Shannon Stacey
Perpetual Tweakage

Okay. The theme I had going on before was not doing it for me. Well, it was, but the pretty hefty cosmetic tweakage it was requiring was keeping me from writing and well…blogging.

Without it up on the screen, I can be happy to tweak it in my spare time. So for now I’ll put this one up as a temp fix to get me away from the look and back to the words.

And don’t even get me started on importing from blogger. I keep getting the same error message. If I can figure that one out pretty soon, I’ll just have to set those entries adrift.

But I’m here! YAY! And during lunch I’ll post the writing-related entry I actually do have!

What an adventure

This whole html css php thing is killing me.

My checklist for tomorrow is to add the rest of my links, rearrange the order of the sidebar and try to get the little sign to center over the entries.

To ponder another day I’ll leave the static pages. They’re cool, because they “mirror” the main page, but you can add content like book covers and whatnot.

Unfortunately, a lot of the customization of this page was done by my adding in html amidst the css/php stuff. Sort of a pidgin-code language. Well, the static pages don’t mirror the html.

What I might do is just stick a links bar under the header and forget the rest. I don’t know yet. I do know I don’t have the ability to take what I did in html and work into the css. *shudder*

Meanwhile, my hero’s rolling his eyes and waiting his turn.

Where's Shannon?

Not in bed at 2:55 am.

I thought html was bad. I’ve been hanging out with css and php. I don’t even know what they are. *shrug* I stuck html weeds in amidst the css and php flowers anyway.

So my new blog is up at www.shannonstacey.com.

It’s definitely an ongoing work in progress, but I need to let it go, get back to writing, and putz with it when time permits. Tomorrow I’ll probably finish adding all the rest of my links to the few I stuck in there to test it. Then…

*drum roll*

…I’ve got to figure out how to import these posts to wordpress. Things I’m reading lead me to believe I can take my posts, but not the comments, so we’ll see how that all works out.

And now I’m going to bed. :p

A work in progress

I’m going to try to fix up some more cosmetic stuff and add my graphic and rearrange the order of the sidebar and all that jazz before I try to import from blogger.

*sigh*

This stuff’s haaaaaaaaaaard. :)

Tomorrow I’m going to spend some time catching up on all the blogs I’m sadly behind on. Which would be pretty much all of them. And don’t even mention my email inbox.

But I sent my contract in, so it’s all good. :)

Slumping in relief

It’s up. It ain’t prettified yet, but it’s up. Now I’m going to read the short kid a story and try to stop the dirty dishes pile from outgrowing the dirty laundry pile.

And I have TWO actual blog entries I’m dying to write, but I’m computered out–I’m also experiencing shoulder/back/neck pain like I haven’t had since the first day I got the computer. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be returning to my regularly scheduled programming.
