On Tuesday, I got an email from Yankee Candle and the subject line caught my eye. Mmm… Is that bacon I smell? Introducing our sizzling new Man Candles lineup.
Mmmm…bacon. Also, Man Candles?
Later that day, I received the new Yankee Candle catalog in the mail and it also featured the new Man Candles lineup. From what I can tell, two of them are new which means I’ve been unaware of previous Man Candles.
So from left to right, we have First Down, Riding Mower, Mmm Bacon, Movie Night and Man Town. It was pretty easy to guess what Riding Mower, Mmm Bacon and Movie Night would smell like, but I had to do further investigation on First Down and Man Town. Luckily, the catalog had handy dandy descriptions.
Man Town – Escape to the man cave with this masculine blend of spices, woods and musk.
I’ll wait while you finish laughing at the idea a man cave would smell good. Done? Then on to FOOTBALL!
First Down – Game on! This combination of orange, patchouli, vetiver and leather is as exciting as game day.
(“Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver is a perennial grass of the Poaceae family, native to India.” Yeah, I didn’t know either.)
But there’s more! This Yankee Candle catalog is scratch & sniff! And I love football and you can buy cute football-related accessories for the First Down candle, so I rubbed the spot and buried my nose in it.
When I was done coughing, sneezing, drying my eyes, and rubbing my face, I told my husband to smell it. He declined.
Trust me, that is not what football smells like. Fortunately, since they’re MAN candles, I can toss the catalog and move on with my life.
That said, I do have mad love for Yankee Candles and don’t have enough room to display them all.
That’s just one shelf on my baker’s rack. I’m scent-sensitive and can’t have the perfumed candles with the exotic flowers and storms and all those buzz words that mean insta-headache. Light fruits, warm apple Christmas scents and such, though, I love. Honeydew being my favorite. But they do have an awesome new scent called Waikiki Melon that I adore. And I bought the fun accessories to match!
So, would you buy a bacon-scented candle? And, if you’re a candle person, what’s your favorite scent?

While bacon is one of my favorite foods, I’m not sure about the candle…I’m pretty selective. Vanilla and cinnamon are about as wild and crazy as I get. We haven’t even opened that jar of Baconnaise I bought last September. . .

I prefer natural scents, straight lemon, lilac, peppermint, but my husband is SUPER scent sensitive, so alas, no candles for me

Nope. I don’t buy any candles, but I sometimes receive them as gifts. I don’t really know what to do with them. Well, yes, there’s the whole burning thing, but I’m not really into that.

Man candles? LOL, thank you so much for the amusing laugh, Shannon! I’ve kinda gotten away from candles and use the wax tarts now. Still, I wouldn’t buy bacon scented ‘but’ I would love to see fragrance makers make candles and wax tarts from their signature scents.
My favorite scent is lavender.

I got that email too and laughed.
If I smell bacon I want to eat bacon. I think a bacon candle would drive me bonkers (not to mention the dog).
I like light fruit scented candles, too. My favorite is MacIntosh Apple. And Partylite used to make a nice strawberry one, but they quit making it.
I don’t like perfumey candles.

Your candle accessories are adorable! Hope the candle scent lives up to the cuteness,
I like anything authentically fruity or herbal as a scent, but I don’t bring any candles home because I have sensitivities to perfumes, too. It’s more fun just to heat up a real cherry pie, anyway!
Have to say that I’m curious about the Movie (popcorn?) candle.
I also found these:

I’m laughing at the NY Style Pizza scent, but I’ll bet that the Campfire is pleasant.
Sounds like there’s story fodder in these candles! I can imagine a scene of a person lighting one and telling someone else to “Wake up and SMELL THE COFFEE” (candle) !! LOL!

I am scent sensitive also. Flowery scents are not my thing. Anything with vanilla is a favorite for me. Certain fruits also- if they are not too sweet.

I LOVE Candles. The Yankee Candles in particular. My favorites are the Christmas scents like Cranberry Chutney, Hollyberry, etc.

Totally a candle person. Presently I’m loving the lemon-mint from Bath and Body Works. I love anything that says “linen” or “cotton.” NOT a fan of vanilla, though.

I love candles and I received that catalog with the man candles this week. I like bacon but I don’t want my house to smell like it for hours lol. My fav from Yankee was Midnight Cove but they don’t make it anymore. I like the ocean scents for Spring/summer and the spicy/fruity scents in Fall/Winter. My favorite now is Turquoise Sky and I like the Paradise Spice.

I was recently at a Yankee Candle store and got to smell the “Man Candles.” My favorite was “Man Town.” It smells exactly like the cologne my husband sometimes wears.

I need to take a trip to the Yankee Candle store. It’s been a while since I’ve been and they have so much fun stuff.
