First up, you should head on over to HarlequinJunkie.com to read a bit about my inspiration for Josh Kowalski’s book, All He Ever Dreamed (which releases in less than a week!). There’s also a giveaway! Besides two $10 gift certificates, there’s a copy of All He Ever Dreamed up for grabs! Plus you should read all the other posts, like I do, and go broke buying up all the books Sara talks about because I do and that way I won’t be alone.
So yesterday, after taking the boys for haircuts, I had to run into the grocery store and grab something for dinner. I tried to leave the short kid in the truck with his brother, but the kid’s quick.
We almost made it out with only what I’d gone in for, but then his gaze landed upon a ginormous bucket of cheese balls. We’d had them before, at my sister’s house when we plowed through the bucket like we’d never had cheese balls before, but it had been years. He wore me down fairly quickly and made it through check-out with his bucket o’cheese balls.
And here we come to the difference between my boys. In the unlikely event the teen asked for a ginormous bucket of cheese balls, he would simply carry it to the truck in a dignified manner and, upon arriving at home, pop the top and eat a handful or two.
Not my short kid. He cradled the bucket in his arms, petting it and whispering “my precious”, over and over again. He cringed away from anybody walking by, giving Golem eyes to those who looked his way, while wrapping his entire body around the bucket and hissing “myyyyyyyyy precious”.
And this is why I try to go to the grocery store while my sons are at school.

If I had a bucket of cheese balls like that I would cherish them as well.

I would love to spend a day at your house. Sounds like fun times!!

I might have been known to do the same thing on occasion. But then again I like cheeseballs better than chocolate.

I love Cheeseballs! I love Chocolate! But what I really love is chocolate covered bacon! So excited that the new book is coming out, I can not wait to get it. Hope I might be one of the lucky winners

Trying to clear my schedule so I have Monday and Tuesday and free to savor your new books (darn real life interfering with my reading time).
Is SK willing to share the cheese balls now that you’re home or is he attempting to eat them all himself?

We’ve bought those things at Sam’s Club and my 20 year old has broken into them before we’ve even gotten them to the car! Nice thing is you’re always ‘caught’ my by yellow hands.
Thanks for the link (even though I have a pre-order, AND I’m off next Monday).

He reminds me of my niece. She’s silly like that about everything.
I’m so excited for your new book and Kathleen Brooks, another fav. author has her new release this Friday. Thank goodness I’m off on Mon.

Oh I do love those cheese balls…even if they are so not good for you……

I’ve had a few of the cheese balls, though I’m not quite as fond of them as the short kid is. He’s keeping the ginormous bucket under the coffee table because the cheese ball burglars won’t think to look there.
Even when he’s driving me nuts, I love that my kid’s a little bit funny/crazy/odd. One thing he never is? Boring.
