Help! What made you laugh?

I’m finishing up a project on infusing contemporary romance with humor and I want to include a few examples from the Kowalski series. So, if you’ve read the books, was there a scene that made you laugh or you thought was particularly funny?

Pretty much the entire first scene with Emma & Sean in YTK, but especially:

Maybe she’s right to worry about you.

    I’m not crazy you know.

You made up an imaginary boyfriend.

    You’re not imaginary, just uninformed.

Cracks me up every time. Lol. And the post it’s.

Oh! And the Newlywed game. And dirty scrabble.

    Those are great, thanks!

That works out pretty well, I think, because the Newlywed game is a good example of…deliberate?…humor. Whereas, the imaginary/uninformed is humor that comes from voice/pov character.

    Awesome!

I had so many laugh out moments. I agree with all of the above. I also liked the part about checking for ticks in the bathhouse, the way everything they played had “DOOM” in the title, Keri and her fear of the raccoon gang, everybody being afraid of grandma Mary and her wooden spoon, the way Shawn would tease Emma about doing the dishes, the whole magic p_ _ _ s inside joke, and my favorite “if you’re looking for sympathy, it’s between shit and syphilis in the dictionary.”

My mother-in-law passed away four or five years after my husband and I got married, but that was her phrase. “If you’re looking for sympathy, it’s between shit and syphilis in the dictionary.”

I almost DIED the first time I heard her say that.

Oh, the raccoon! Must make note of that.

The broccoli scene in yours to keep

He could do this. He’d survived boot camp. He’d survived combat and the harsh weather of Afghanistan. He could survive broccoli. Probably.

In All He Ever Needed I cracked up every time *another* story of a woman satisfied by Mitch cropped up. And they kept popping up! That cracked me up! (That’s a lot of ups in one comment.)

I have to say my favorite is from Slow Summer Kisses with Cam and Anna. Loved when Cam called Anna’s cell to hear her new ringtone!

Absolutely laughed out loud in “Undeniably Yours” when “BOB says Hi” was texted by Paulie – and Logan’s response.
I agree that the “post its” comments were brilliant in book 3.
Have read the first 3 books – about to start the 4th… can’t wait!!
    Love the “Kowlasksi” family.

    I’m making a note of Bob. :)

And I’m glad you’re loving them, Teena!
