A woman with a plan (kind of)

So, I managed to lose a whopping 0.4 since my last WW logging which, much to my dismay, seems to have been 9/28. I must not have put 10/4’s in there, even though I blogged about it. The bottom line is that I’m still six pounds up from my lowest weight on August 24th. And I’m back up to fifteen pounds to go until my goal weight.

Obviously I’ve been lax about keeping track of things and getting on the scale on Fridays. I’m back up to four large Dunkin Donuts iced coffees (with cream) again, with the occasional bonus one from Cumberland Farms thrown in there. Not tracking my food. And, now that we’re done with camp, pretty much sitting on the couch all the time. I planned to clean my office this weekend, including un-burying the treadmill, but life threw a curveball and we’ll be doing the college open house thing instead.

My plan: Quit with the Dunkin Donuts. Start tracking again. And I put the “get on the scale” alarm back on my phone so I’ll remember to not only weigh in, but check in with you guys because that seriously makes a difference. And unbury the treadmill.

How are you guys doing? Hopefully awesome. If not, we’ll get back to awesome together!

I’m working out an hour, three times a week. I spend thirty minutes on the elliptical, sweating and taxing my lungs. Then I do squats on the leg press machine along with exercises on other leg machines. I’m also doing dips and chin-ups for upper body strength.

And, I’ve lost absolutely no weight whatsoever. Two months of increasing time and incline on the elliptical–as well as speed–along with almost doubling the amount of weights I can lift, and I’ve lost no weight. Sigh.

I have the weirdest body when it comes to weight loss. Last time we talked here I had stayed the same for a couple of weeks after a 2 or 2.5 loss. Then 2 weeks ago, I lost FOUR lbs in one week!! Well, to be fair, it was probably 2–my period week was in there and while the scale said “the same” that week, I had probably really lost the first 2 lbs that week, but the water weight canceled it on the scale, etc.

ANYWAY, (I ramble!) the next week I gained 1.5, then this week I lost the 1.5 so I’m back where I started 2 weeks ago. I NEVER just lose consistently, it’s always this big loss, stay the same for awhile, big loss, stay the same for awhile. SO annoying!

However, the good news is that the 4 lb loss brought me into another “decade” WOOHOOO! I am 7.5 lbs from my first goal weight!

I am a woman without a plan…so it is about time I came up with a plan. I am a lot of talk but not a lot of action when it comes to diet/exercise. I am glad you do post here about your status on Fridays. It is my reminder to look back to see how I did this past week and what I want to do next week. :-) Good luck with your plan!

I’d say my fitness has improved as I’ve been adding in yoga, however, I too have not been logging my food, so I’m in a stasis of 1 to 3 pounds above the weight Weight Watchers gave me as my initial goal weight back in March. Enh. Since I know the problem: not tracking my food and therefore not making the healthiest choices, I know what I need to do to fix.

I need to get back on track. I was having problems with WW screwing up my account multiple times in multiple ways, so I didn’t have the eTools for a long time, and so I wasn’t tracking.

I took a vacation last week to Sedona and had a REALLY difficult time walking because of knee pain. I also signed up to attend RT in May and do NOT want to be in this shape then. I’ll be miserable the entire time.

SO! First thing Monday I’m back on the WW plan in a BIG way. MUST get my monthly pass back, as well as buy groceries and start cooking again. AND start exercising. I have some shows I’ve DL’d through iTunes which are little to no impact to get me started.

Sharon, you might be building muscle. I’ve seen some great pictures on Tumblr of people who gained weight but lost and tightened many inches and looked amazing. The numbers on the scale only tell part of the story.

A new decade, Tracy! WOOHOO! That’s awesome! And you’re really close to your first goal weight. Yay!

Julie, that’s a great app! I know a lot of people who’ve had great results with it. I’m supposed to be using the WW app, but I still use myfitnesspal to track my weight.

Amy, I’m going to get much better about being here every Friday. I fell off a little bit (and, not coincidentally, found myself gaining pounds back), so I put an every-Friday alarm on my phone. Being here with y’all once a week is obviously important to my success. :)

Katie, I bought a yoga DVD and mat….last year? I’ve yet to try it. Maybe it’s being an 80’s youth, but I’ve always had the aerobics=working out mindset. But I need muscle tone and lower blood pressure, so maybe I should try it.

Lynda, I’ll be at RT, too!!!! And not cooking has been a big deal for me. Between camp and deadline stress, I was down to home cooking MAYBE one night a week. Take out and restaurants are not the key to success.

I’m supposed to be using back seasons of Sons of Anarchy and Gilmore Girls to lure me onto the treadmill (that’s quite a pairing of shows, no?) but my discipline sucks and I haven’t even cleaned off the treadmill yet. (But I’m on season 2 of SoA and season 4 of GG. Oops.)
