For those who don’t subject themselves to my Twitter feed, I traded Jeepish in yesterday. During a very recent conversation, my husband told that, thanks to his commute, he’s spending $500 a month on gas. Now that camp time is upon us, it’ll be $700 a month. And that didn’t count gas I put in the 4Runner, which averaged 14-15mpg.
So we decided to trade Jeepish for a vehicle with crazy-good gas mileage and he would drive it for his commute while I would, once again, drive the pick-up. To rub salt in the wound, the car is the one that I have wanted for months: a 2012 Ford Fiesta hatchback in Lime Squeeze.
Kermit! I think it looks a little more yellow-y in the picture I took, but it’s a hot lime green. Isn’t it adorable? And 40mpg! Yay! And I got to watch it drive away while I get to drive…this:
I guess I’ll be taking care of the truck’s burned-out blinker. And the malfunctioning ABS system. And the front tire that doesn’t hold air worth a damn. Needless to say, I’ll be cleaning it out as soon as the rain lets up.
And, despite the Kermit face and the fact she’s not mine to drive, her name is Lolly. (Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolly-lolly-pop…)

Oh and thank YOU very much for that earworm. Lolly is really cute. Sorry she’ll be mostly Mr. S’s. Um why is a 4Runner’s name Jeepish?

I love love love Jeep Grand Cherokees and, when it came time to buy a used 4×4, I about killed myself trying to find a used Grand Cherokee in my price range that wasn’t a total piece of crap. When I found the 4Runner, I knew it was a solid truck in great shape for a very good price, so I did the responsible thing and bought it.
I was a little mopey because I really wanted a Grand Cherokee and the Short Kid said, “Well, it’s kind of Jeepish.”
And that was its name.

I drive those Fiestas as well as a whole bunch of other cars for my job. They’re adorable little things.
But I have to say, when an eighteen wheeler pulls up next to me, I feel a bit more omnipotent in the trucks I drive than that Fiesta. ;o)
And I LOVE the Kermie face!

Lolly is cute. Not much of a backseat for your kids though.
You could put those little window decals of Kermit and Miss Peggy on the back window. Bet Mr S would love that – LOL. (Or maybe he is a fan of the Muppets and really would like it.)
