My inner Bridget

My mom called this morning and we chatted about the family tree. I have a passion for genealogy, but I haven’t had time to even pull out my charts for several years. Mom’s been working on her family, though, finding all kinds of neat tidbits.

My favorite ancestor is Bridget McCracken. I don’t know a lot about her, but in my head she’s a feisty Irish lass with a fiery temper. And how cool is her name?

My dad’s side of the family has a fancy Latin family motto to go with the sketch of the ancient English manor, but I’m going to cross-stitch myself a new family motto for myself.

That’s the side of the gene pool I swim in.

LOLOL Love it. My mom is into genealogy in a big way, and she searched for YEARS to find a way to connect us to Archimedes Muff. She loved the name so much and wanted to be connected to him. Turns out we are.

One side of the family’s names: James, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, John.

Other side: Archimedes, Major, and Ephraim

Guess which side I claim? LOLOL

That is a very cool name. Would be a good name for a romance heroine.

I love it! I agree that a story about Bridget McCracken is needed!

Archimedes is a super cool name! On my dad’s side we have Elmer. Not quite as super cool.

And I’d live to write Bridget McCracken’s story. She’d be a firecracker!
