Starting to panic

Six days until Christmas. I swear, my brain can’t make any sense of that combination of words. Six. Days. Until. Christmas.

Thanks to Amazon’s nifty Prime membership, the shopping’s pretty much under control. Except the stockings. Christmas stockings are hard. Deodorant for everybody! I haven’t even started making the cracker candy. Not a single decoration. And forget Christmas cards.

If I don’t at least get the tree up today, my family’s going to ask Santa for a new mom.

Definitely starting to panic.

I so feel your pain. Not at all ready for the holidays this year. I just shipped a bunch of crap via UPS today–my second round of shipping, and very last minute for me. *sigh*

Too late to put up the tree now. Then you’ll have it up until March again. Tell the family to suck it up and deal. You’re on deadline. ;-)

    I COMPLETELY feel your pain.

I still need to order presents, knit 3 scarves, finish knitting a hat, and finish a blanket, which includes sewing in all the ends (A LOT of ends. EPIC PROPORTIONS of ends) AND sewing the damn thing together. Oh, and knit another 2-3 stocking ornaments.

Plus wrap everything I’ve already bought, make pierogies (from scratch, natch), and another batch of Ginger cookies. And order and pick up the pies for Christmas day.

My christmas decorations, though, are up. Thanks only to the team of friends that came and helped a couple of weeks ago. LOL.

The time got away from me, too. Weird how that happens. I didn’t even bother with cards this year. Hope you have a nice holiday anyway! :)

    *sending good thoughts your way*

(and refusing to think about the state of my own house as it pertains to Christmas spirit and stuff–I’ll rather go try to finish knitting my daughter’s bday present, due Thursday)

I got the tree up last night. It’s naked. Well, it has lights, but only because it’s pre-lit. I promised SK we’d decorate it tonight.

That, and the stockings, will be it for us this year. I’ve informed my family that we’ll decorate the hell out of the house next year. IF I get some help.

I’ve bought the ingredients for cracker candy and sausage balls. We’ll see how that goes, LOL.

Is it cold enough to do cracker candy?

I have no room in my freezer, but the temps have finally come down enough here.

Personally, I have enjoyed having such a mild winter so far. I don’t like driving in snow. Or walking the dog in snow, though the dog loves it.

We decorated the tree last night and hung the stockings. Yay!

Now to do the 837,293 things on my list. Including making the cracker candy. Yesterday it was cold, but today not so much. I’m very much hoping my porch stays cold enough to set the cracker candy because I have a stupid side-by-side fridge I can’t fit even a small cookie sheet in. (Or a pizza box. I’ve been waiting for this stupid fridge to die for about ten years but it won’t.)

Stocking stuffers are next. The key is going to be buying the largest deodorant sticks I can find, LOL.

Shannon, woof! You have every techno gadget on the planet but not a decent fridge/freezer?

And I do feel your pain. We found out just yesterday that we will not get Friday and Monday off for the holidays. We will get paid as if we did have them off though, so can’t complain.(Can you say triple time?) LOL

Since I’m on seconds and working 12 hour shifts, hubster is Santa’s helper this year. He has the tree up and has been cleaning the downstairs for the kids and grandkids to come over on Christmas Eve. Thank heavens!

We bought this stupid side-by-side used when we moved into the house, so it’s been 16.5 years. And it WILL NOT DIE. The icemaker died. But the rest hasn’t and my husband just can’t bring himself to pull the trigger on a new one when the old one isn’t dead.
