Storm’s Heart by Thea Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy this one has much as Dragon Bound. I don’t read a lot of paranormals and I wasn’t sure Tiago and Tricks would surprise me and make me laugh and sigh and fall in love with them as Dragos and Pia did.
I didn’t care for the “setting” as much. Political court intrigue doesn’t really do it for me, even in a magical setting, but I love the characters and the author’s blend of deep emotion and fun sucks me in.
But I did love this as much as the first. For some reason with these books, the explosive “mating” bond in the males works for me, as does their being perplexed by their women. And the way he spun off of Your Highness, calling her Your Argumentativeness and Your Listlesness, made me laugh.
And the harpy. OMG, the harpy kills me.
Now I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Serpent’s Kiss. I don’t really read vampires but, then again, I generally don’t read shifters, either. But I like this series. A LOT.

While I liked this one a lot, I didn’t like it as well as the first book. I agree with you on the setting. It wasn’t as much fun as Dragon Bound. This will not keep me from reading Serpent’s Kiss.
