Being lazy…somewhat

I’m supposedly taking the day off to catch up on some neglected housework, but it’s not going so well. I’m working on a fun, challenging, Kowalski-related Secret Project of Doom instead of cleaning, which isn’t a bad thing. Unless you’re a member of my family looking for an uncluttered flat surface to set something down upon, in which case you ask one of the mutant dustbunnies to hold onto it while you clear a space.

My husband got me a cleaning lady as a gift; she comes every two weeks. The first time she came, a couple of months ago, I told him I was divorcing him and marrying her.

If I had a cleaning lady, I’d probably wear myself out cleaning before she arrived.

And there will be more Kowalskis. Definitely!

I think I tried Fly Lady back when she was all the rage with the GonnaBeez (nostalgia!!!), but I didn’t stick with it. Maybe I should check her out again. (You know…tomorrow.)

Yeah, the FlyLady thing can be faddish. I tried it once long ago and failed miserably. Thing is it’s still there and has a lot of good stuff.

Now there is what is called Side Door Flying. It’s where you take some of the principles and apply it to fit your world. Me, not a chance I can stick to the basic morning and evening routine. I’m working swing shifts every other two weeks and on two of those days I have to work 3AM to 3PM, or vise versa. This while averaging 90,000 steps per week and throwing around boxes like a UPS driver.

Swish and swipe? Soooooo not gonna happen. LOL. Shiny sink? To a point. Laundry? Getting into the whole “reboot daily” thing.

But I really like the weekly zones. I write the zone down at the beginning of the week then I know ahead on Saturday (hopefully the first of two days off) what all the missions are. At the top of every hour I taking 15 minutes max (timer) to deal with the mission.

If I don’t get them all done, so be it. A girl’s gotta have a life. LOL
