A contest & more FB social workers

Hey, Jaci Burton’s giving away a Kindle copy of Yours To Keep on her blog!

Remember last month when I came across this lovely (and by lovely I mean frightening and disturbing) ad on Facebook urging you to become a social worker?

Yesterday, yet another Facebook social worker ad caught my eye…

I…don’t even know what to say.

I have been noticing these as well. I’ve posted 2 of these ads on Facebook, including Possessed Girl, and just this week, Baby With Kidney Beans For Hands. Today’s social worker ad feature a baby with mumps. Or else the baby is collecting acorns for winter. Oh.. never mind, that’s squirrels. It’s bizarre.

I guess they’re successful in that they make me look, but…nightmare territory. :)

They certainly have got people talking. Whether the talk has resulted in increased interest in being a Social Worker… well, call me a cynic but I am skeptical!

I googled this to see if anyone else was a perplexed by these ads as I am, I’m glad to see I’m not alone. I’m convinced they’re trying to create a viral campaign, because their ads are absurd.
