Spring Break: Day 1

Truly having a Monday here at Casa Stacey. My husband’s home. My kids have no school. The Short Kid has a cold that’s causing him to say, “I think this is the end of me” every three and a half minutes, and I have a headache the size of Montana.

Why Montana? Because I’m reading Nora’s Chasing Fire, which is set in Montana, so it comes to mind. It’s an awesomely good book, which isn’t a surprise. What is a surprise is the fact I absolutely love the heroine. I’m all about the hero as a reader, but this woman I like. A lot. And I really don’t want to do anything today but read. Sadly, there’s no clause in my contracts excusing me from turning in books because I’m reading.

So, I’m working. (Which may or may not loosely translate to I’m sitting here watching “Suite Life”, which SK put on before leaving the room, but I have my laptop on my lap, so…)

I really liked Rowan, too. She had the most complete emotional arc in the story IMO.

Good luck with spring break. Is it just for one week? My teen goes to a alternate school, so he had two weeks off.

I’m getting close enough to the end of Chasing Fire that I’m going to end up locking myself in the bathroom to finish it today.

And it’s only one week, thank goodness. But it’s a reminder that, in a month and half, school will be over and they’ll be here every day.

    *sigh*
