On Tuesday, I asked readers for the last historical they read that they loved. There were some awesome suggestions in the comment thread, so I decided to post them up for everybody to check out. (And to serve as my handy-dandy shopping list because, once again, I’m determined to add more historicals to my reading diet this year. And this time I mean it.)
If you’re looking for a good historical romance, you might start with one of these…
Ransom by Julie Garwood
An Affair Without End by Candace Camp
Of Dukes and Deceptions by Wendy Soliman ( Carina Press link )
Proper Conduct and Under the Kissing Bough by Shannon Donnelly
How to Woo a Reluctant Lady by Sabrina Jeffries
Becoming Miss Becky by…me! (And I’ll add the link to Taming Eliza Jane because it’s the first book and I think it’s better to read them in order.)
Maid to Match by Deeanne Gist
Unveiled by Courtney Milan
My Reckless Surrender by Anna Campbell (Wow, that is one very yellow cover.)
Honor’s Splendour by Julie Garwood
Seducing an Angel by Mary Balogh
The Heiress by Lynsay Sands (More yellow! This time with purple!)
The Duke And I by Julia Quinn
What A Rogue Desires by Caroline Linden
By Possession by Madeline Hunter
Two recommendations for Hester: The Missing Years of The Scarlet Letter by Paula Reed (Sounds intriguing)
A Highlander Never Surrenders by Paula Quinn
Outlaw in Paradise by Patricia Gaffney (Western! But no Kindle edition? *cries*)
When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James
What I Did For a Duke by Julie Ann Long
One Touch of Scandal by Liz Carlyle
Coming soon!
And as a bonus item, the historical I’m most anticipating this year: In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks. It’s releasing August 30th, but it’s available for pre-order now!
I want this book very badly and intend to whine incessantly at her until she sends me an early copy just to shut me up.

I’m looking forward to “In Bed with a Highlander” as well! It has two of my favorite cover models, Ewa da Cruz and Paul Marron! Actually, Paul is on all three of the trilogy. Woohoo!

It’s a gorgeous cover!
Maya asked on her FB page which cover of the trilogy was our favorite and I thought…
1. No…2. But 3’s is beautiful. 3. No…1. But 2! I love them ALL!
