The snow’s melting at a record pace and we’re driving around with the windows down. The birds are fluttering amok. The neighborhood cats and the occasional confused skunk are wandering. My cats are staring out the window watching the outside world come out of hibernation.

My husband’s snowmobiling season is coming to an end. (Although he did manage, yesterday, to get his sled so stuck it took an hour and a half, a tracked ATV and a skidder to get him out. Not sure what he would have done if they hadn’t come along. And it might not have taken an hour and a half if they hadn’t gotten the ATV stuck, too.) Spring’s a little tough for me because I’m coming out of hibernation and I want to ride my four-wheeler. Sadly, it’s mud season. Even though I’m ready to go, the trails we ride don’t open until the middle of May. May!
But I do enjoy enjoy days that are neither cold nor hot, but just right. And today we’re definitely having one of those. To celebrate, we’re going to go wash the road salt off the truck. Happy spring!
