Today’s the official first day of winter break, although the boys got a jump on it because Friday was a snow day. I don’t mind school vacations, really. I get up at the usual time and I like having that hour or more in the morning to myself. No rushing to find that paper I was supposed to sign or the Short Kid’s left glove. I don’t have to drive them to school or pick them up.
The black cloud to that silver lining is, of course, that there are people in my house during my time. People who want to talk to me and want food and who want to put on the Disney Channel and distract me with The Suite Life on Deck. And the Short Kid, for reasons known only to him, has embarked upon a Star Wars glom…but in reverse order. He started with Return of the Jedi on Friday and today we’re down to Attack of the Clones. I can’t even begin to tell you what this does to my nerves.
In the midst of this invasion of my loved ones, I’ll be wrapping up edits for Yours By Design, of which my editor said:
She also mentioned the release date is June 6th, so write that down! (I’m kidding. You don’t have to write that down. I’ll probably mention it again between now and then.) That’s one day shy of the first anniversary of the Carina Press launch. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since Exclusively Yours released!
