Barely. Barely surviving Christmas break. But the Short Kid’s love affair with my iPad is helping. When he’s muttering “stupid pigs”, at least he’s not talking to me.
So…anybody get anything fun for Christmas? Or do something fun?

I got a new stove. Not because I wanted one, but because the Sunday before Christmas mine made an ugly popping sound, threw every breaker in my house, and died. The exciting part is, I traded the electric smooth top in for a gas range, which I prefer. It’s so fun to have a new one to cook on and my mom has a serious case of stove envy.
Bummer on your stove dying right before Christmas, but yay on getting a shiny new one! If my electric one ever dies, I’ll probably get a gas one, too. We didn’t have gas piped to the house when we bought the current stove, but we do now.
I don’t think I cook any better with gas (not being much of a cook to begin with) but the electric burners stay hot for so long and I have a bad habit of setting things down on them. Especially plastic bowls.
My house was plumbed for the gas, so it was no problem with the stove. I liked the smooth top, but lived in fear of dropping something on it. Now I have a snazzy new one with a griddle burner in the middle and I’m loving it.
