So here you are on my blog (Hello!), so how do you enter to win?
If you won the lottery and could buy yourself any gift this holiday, what would it be? I’d buy myself a brand-spankin’-new Mercedes Benz GL550 SUV! The starting base price on that sucker’s $84,450, but that’s okay because we’re thinking big and having a little fun here.
To be entered, tell me…What would you buy?
(If your comment goes to moderation, don’t worry—I’ll be checking it several times a day and I’ll check it a final time to make sure I didn’t miss any before the winners are chosen!)

Hi Shannon, if I won the lottery I’d rebuild my house. It needs a bigger living room, a kitchen like Paula Deens, and really needs a library for all my books!! LOL. Thanks for the contest, I’ve been waiting for this collection.
Comment
Oooh, I’d have my dream house built!! It would have an awesome kitchen, and OMG, a library FULL of books, and pick each every individual one!! I just SMELL it, lol!!
GREAT contest, and I can’t wait to read Holiday Sparks!!
Comment
Hmmm…if I won the lottery I’d love to renovate our master bathroom AND completely re-do the kitchen. Perhaps not the sexiest treat but something I could literally enjoy every day!
Comment
I’d buy myself a new motorhome. They are a great way to travel.
Comment
I would buy myself a house in a safter city!
Comment
Hi Shannon! I won the lottery I would buy my parents a house out here in Ontario. They live in Alberta and that is just too far away! The other option would be for me to buy a place closer to them so that they wouldn’t miss my kids so much! Thanks for the contest!
Comment
(oops! I just got off nights so the above post should say that “If I won the lottery!…sorry!)
Comment
I think I book a trip to Scotland and pay for a few girlfriends to come with me. Oh my we’d have a blast.
Comment
Hi! This is exciting! My BFF Penni (above) mentioned this contest and I just got butterflies in my gut!
What would I do…. hmm.. well, it would be dependent on the size of the lottery, no?
I actually would be pretty ecstatic with fifty bucks, but if I won a BIG lottery?
I’d take my parents on a vacation. See all the places they want to see before they’re too old to travel.
Comment
This is boring, but I would pay off my house. Not really buying anything new, but I would have so much extra money each month I could buy myself lots of fun stuff for many years to come.
Comment
I would buy a beautiful apartment on Central Park West with patio and beautiful park views!
Comment
I’d buy me a new home and a new car. I would also visit some places I’ve been dying to see, Hawaii, New York, Australia, and Paris. I would also buy my parents a new house and of course take them on vacation.
Comment
What would I buy if I won the lottery? An Australian vacation for myself and my best friend.
After that, pay of the house, buy new vehicles…yanno, the usual.
Comment
It seems like so many I would do housework and give myself a major home renovation and pay off my house. In this new house would be a great master suite with huge new bathroom and my own beautiful home office where I could write all night if I wanted.
Comment
I would buy myself a cream pearl Escalade and my dream house (5 bedroom colonial) with a built in pool! Plus have the packing and moving done for me!
Comment
I’d put a new bathroom in downstairs, complete with a wet bar amd jacuzzi!
Nothing like a hot soak while i’m reading my favorite books
Comment
I would buy a dependable car for my 3 kids and me a New Camaro plus a way to disappear for a small trip without hurting others feelings I guess that means an additional payoff with the cars…
Comment
Wow! I don’t usually buy anything for myself so that’s kind of hard. But if I won the lottery I would probably build an addition onto our house because we ran out of room for toys like 2 years ago! LOL
Other than that, the DH wants to go to a Packers/Vikings game so I would probably buy him tickets for that as well.
Comment
Well I would redo my house b/c my kitchen is to small and I love to cook. Then redo the whole first floor for my daughter’s room b/c she is in a wheel chair and she needs more space. Then I would add a second floor for our bedrooms. Then I would get a swimming pool for her to help her muscles. Then give money to mother-in-law so she wouldn’t have to work any more. Also help my sister-in-law who is having some financial issues.
Comment
I would buy a new car. I affectionately call my car “the crap car”. Thanks for the awesome contest.
Comment
I would buy all the books on my wishlist and more and then I would build my own library *dreaming*
Comment
If I won the lottery, I would build my dream home. It would have lots of walk-in closet space to fill with the new wardrobe I would buy as soon as I lost some weight in the excercise room
Comment
Awesome contest! I’m really looking forward to all of these books!!
If I won the lottery……..I would do all the things we’ve dreamed about doing to our house, buy new cars (one for our youngest who is just starting to drive) and travel!!
Comment
Wow, what a great question! A tough one, too. Of course, I’d like to say something philanthropic but just for fun…I’ll go with my dream home!
I’d purchase a castle in Ireland. A real castle like you see in fairy tales with the lush, green landscaping and the swans in the moat. Might as well life the dream!
Happy Holidays and thanks for doing this, Shannon!
Comment
What to choose-What to choose…if there was one thing that I could pick, it would be an all expense trip paid to go to Ireland…FOR A MONTH–no kids, no hubby…just me and my laptop, and guitar. That would be paradise….
A car would be nice too(mine would be an Astin Martin Vanquish)…but I would love the quiet and time to write more
Happy holidays and thanks for sponsoring such a wonderful contest…you ladies ROCK!

I would start off with a one-way ticket to England, because I have always wanted to go back and tour Great Britain extensively, then I’d travel to every other place that I’ve wanted to see, but didn’t have the money or time to visit.
Comment
A new house and a whole bunch of digital books!!
Comment
If I won the lottery I’d buy (after I picked myself up off the floor from passsing out
) a trip around the world.Australia,Paris,Holland,Louisiana,Scotland,Ireland,Egypt..etc.
Comment
Hmm, that’s a good question.
Maybe I’d start with a big screen TV and a new VCR/DVD player.
Comment
We play the lottery winning game every year on our beach vacation in Florida as we float in the pool. Number one on my list is to pay off the house including the renovations I have planned ever since I bought it. Without the house payment, I could give myself additional little gifts every month!
Comment
I guess I would go on a crazy shopping tour through Frankfurt. I would hit Chanel, Burberry, Tiffany (to name only a few).
I love good clothes and shoes and would also buy things for the rest of my family.
Comment
I’d buy my dream home.
And I would definitely love to travel around the world. See all the places I’ve always wanted to go.
Comment
I have always wanted to know exactly where my family came from. So I would trace my family “roots” and go wherever it took me. You can’t know where you really going if you don’t know where you really are from!!
Comment
Paying off all my loans sounds good, haha. I’d also want a new house, because we ran out of room for everything (including my books) about ten years ago.
Comment
Well, depending on how big the lottery prize was, I’d share with my family and spend my share on my wish list of books and music at Amazon. No matter how many I end up buying it just seems to keep growing
Comment
If I won the lottery I would give to charity for sure and then my first purchase would be a loft. I just love the feel of open space, tall windows and miles of bookshelves!
I really enjoyed your latest, Undeniably Yours, even though I am a NYer and Yankee fan.
Comment
If I won the lottery I’d have a big house built on a lot of land. I’d have the octagon library I’ve always wanted to hold all these darn books I’ve been accumulating. We move a lot because of the military so I never can get big items / like a bookshelves
and really cool furniture. So I’d have that house and know we would have it come retirement time.
Comment
If I won a nice whopping big lottery I’d buy a new house for myself, one for my sister and one for my parents. Then I’d buy myself a new car with an engine light that wasn’t constantly lit. Finally I’d buy front row tickets for every Keith Urban and Adam Lambert concert for the rest of time. This is a really big lottery, right?
Comment
Win the lottery? To be honest my wish would be kind of stupid and crazy. I would buy a ticket for the us and go to at least ten book stores and just enjoy to find the books I love in a real store and buy as many of them as my naked menservants can carry and I can ship back to Germany. That would be total bliss. *g*
Comment
I would put a down payment on a condo or maybe take a trip to Tahiti.
Comment
If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do would be to completely renovate my home. I love my house, but there’s always room for improvements. But since you said a gift for myself, I’d buy a housekeeper to free up my time and a brand new computer to start writing. I’ve dabbled in it for years but never had the time or will power to sit down and focus. If I were completely financially solvent, I’d have no excuse left!
Comment
If I won the lottery I would pay off my mortgage.
Comment
What a great contest!
If I won the lottery, I would first be responsible and pay off my student loans. After that, however, I’d gather up my family and take them somewhere nice and hot. Then I would sit on the beach and read Holiday Sparks!
Comment
If I won the lottery, I would build a house big enough for my library of books. Of course I would have to pay off bills like tuition. Then I would go on a book buying shopping spree.
Comment
I’d buy an SUV (to replace our 14 year old Civic), pay off the mortgage, book a Mediterranean cruise for DH and me, load up my Kindle with lots of books, buy another reader for ePub books (Kobo? Nook?) and load that one up too, then invest the rest and hope it’s enough so I can work just part-time. (Does it sound like I’ve actually thought about this? Haha!)
Comment
I would travel to all the countries I have been dying to visit: Scotland, England, Italy, Greece, Austrialia, France, and Spain. I would also go on a major shopping spree where I bought everything that caught my eye and I had been putting off buying.
Comment
I would expand the kitchen and make it huge if I won the lottery
Comment
Winning the lottery would be such a kick. I would love to remodel my parent’s house for them. They don’t want to move out of the home that they’ve lived in for 50 years, but it could definitely use some modifications now that they are getting on in years.
Comment
I’d buy a house up in the mountains here in Denver. Not too far off the beaten path but enough on the outskirts with plenty of land.
Comment
I’d buy a huge house on a tropical island.
