TV rant

So Lone Star got the axe after two episodes. And now My Generation is cancelled after two episodes.

I didn’t watch either of those shows, though we did record the first episode of Lone Star on the DVR. By the time the second episode rolled around, the rumors of impending cancellation were so hot and heavy we didn’t bother recording it and deleted the first. And My Generation we didn’t have a lot of interest in.

It still makes me angry, though. What a freakin’ waste. A waste of time and a waste of money. The networks know about DVRs. Give us a little while to catch up. Give people a chance to test out the different shows and see what we like and what we don’t.

We watched the premiere of Outlaw and decided it wasn’t for us. We DVR’d Detroit 1-8-7, but now we watch it and DVR the other show in the time slot. We have two episodes each of The Whole Truth and Blue Bloods on the DVR. Are they going to be cancelled before we get a chance to watch them?

Let the word of mouth spread. Let people catch up online and rearrange their watching habits.

It’s so aggravating it makes me not want to try new shows. I’ll stick with the tried-and-true rather than invest my time in a show some network idiots are going to yank after two episodes because they can’t adjust their business models for new technology.

I couldn’t agree more about giving a show (and viewers) a chance. I love Castle and will remain faithful to the end, but I’ve been catchin Hawaii 5-0 on On Demand. But I didn’t try most of the new shows since I know they’ll be cancelled like they are the plague. And this is why I usually watch USA network shows.

No!!!! They cancelled Lone Star?! I loved that among the crap of the new season. It truly had potential. Det 187, never even made it to the DVR- the lead annoys me in so many ways. Chase has one more week to prove itself- it’s meh-

LOVE Hawaii 5-0 … needs to be in a Friday timeslot. It’s so iffy that I love it for Mick, um, Alex O. alone. And you vamp lovers did you get the vamp on vamp fight in the premeire. Spike vs Mick… Ah… um, choke, ya. Reality.

I have to do the delicate dance of the “ends one minute later” on some shows, but not on others or my DVR will no doubt burst into flames. Learning to juggle the new season…

Love me some Bones and Fringe- for my Aspie science/weirdness loving self and desperately missing Eureka and Sanctuary. Oh, and Leverage, and…

oh, and as picky as I am- I love The Whole Truth. Although it shares DVR time with L&O or some such thing. I watch it on HULU & love it. Hulu says it’s a comedy. Not. Be prepared for repeated scenes from other POV. That’s one of the things I love, along with Rob Morrow. (I miss Numb3ers) :(

Wow, My Generation already? And Sh** My Dad Says is still going? Yeesh. I’d been on the fence about My Generation but was going to give it another shot, especially since a lot of it took place in Austin!

    Word.

WordPress doesn’t like one-word comments, which totally ruins the effect of commenting. *sigh*
