A boy with no place to land

The poor Short Kid is, by nature of trickle-down family dynamics, low man on the seating chart.

Dad has “Dad’s chair”. Mom has the left end of the couch (the end closest to the electrical outlets, naturally) and, when he blesses us with his presence, TK sprawls across the right end of the couch. While that leaves a cushion in the middle of the couch, there’s quite often a dog there, plus that kind of proximity isn’t good for either the boys’ relationship or my nerves.

So SK usually ends up on the floor.

Then a chair in the Walmart flyer caught my eye. A little round microfiber job, like the Popasan chairs of old, but smaller and I can fold it up and tuck it out of the way. They’re targeted for the college dorm crowd, but it looked like the perfect size for SK to snuggle up in and only $19.

And the Short Kid sits on the floor…

Which means, to add to Natasha’s comment, you need to get 2 more: 1 for each cat and SK. :)

    Bwahaha! I thought of that.

If I buy another, the cats will each have their own. So then I’d have to buy SK another. Then the dog would want one.

I’d have to line them up like movie theater seats.

Get 1 more like that one (so each cat can have a chair) & get a bigger version for SK. In Orange. I like the image of him sitting w/them. Very sci-fi. SK & his co-pilots…

Ha! And of course the cats have no problem with the seating arrangement.

Gizmo and Jinx will NOT give up the new chair.

I watched SK tilt the chair to dump them out and they just dug in their claws and hung from it like bats.

    Aww!!!
    Poor SK!
And if you bought another chair the cats would separate and each sit on a chair! lol

LOLOL! Especially at the hanging-on-like-bats image.

    Poor SK. But still.

I know what it’s like to be lower than the cats on the totem pole of family dynamics. Poor SK!

    OMG. Too hilarious!

And the image of them digging in to hold “their” territory. Priceless!
