I’m one of the very lucky moms whose family doesn’t make her breakfast in bed. We go out for breakfast. (Actually, we go out for breakfast every weekend, but I had an extra cup of coffee today.) But the Short Kid made a card for me that made me get all sniffly over my morning coffee.
This is the front. It’s a picture of me on my four-wheeler, splashing through the mud (which is my favorite thing to do) and turning my ATV and my sweatshirt brown (which is my favorite thing to do):

And here’s the inside. It’s all four of us. Their machines are all green and mine’s black. We ride in a particular order—there’s Dad in front, then SK with TK behind him, and then me in the back. Our favorite family activity. Notice how he dropped a couple of broken tree limbs in the trail to make our ride more exciting.

I dropped a hint I’d rather have a couple of perennials rather than umpteen flats of annuals, so my guys bought me a beautiful Clematis and a tub of Shasta Daisies (a particular favorite I don’t have in my garden, for some reason). I asked my boys to pose for a pic with my pretty flowers and…they tried…

But they did manage to sit still long enough for one shot!

Happy Mother’s Day!

it’s a rather diabolical plan, isn’t it? At least this year it’s two perennials. Last year it was a gazillion annuals and I cursed his name the entire DAY I spent planting them all.

Love the card, and the plants. I think they should flex their manly muscles and plant ’em for you.

I love shasta daisies. They are so innocent and clean looking.
Great pics of the boys having fun.

They got you a potted flower so you would have to weed that garden of yours.
Happy mothers day.

Your Clematis looks just like the one I have. They bloom beautifully every year. Just give it a year or so to establish itself and cut it back every spring, though it’s really not necessary. It’ll grow and bloom even if you don’t. They’re very low maintenance. Do you have a trellis for it to grow on, or a fence? It needs somethign to climb on.
And daisies. Love daisies! They did good.
