Dear Barnes & Noble

I gave you a lot of money in exchange for a nook. I chose the nook over the Kindle even though Amazon often beats you on book prices. Even though the nook has some known glitches. Even though it doesn’t do everything you advertised it could do. Even though you, for some inexplicable and stupid-as-crap reason, decided not to capitalize the name of your device.

In exchange, do you think you could let me read some mother:censor:ing books?

Today is Tuesday. Tuesday means new books. I’m not sure why you didn’t get the memo—oh wait, because is there NO :censor:ing memo. Everybody who’s ever read a book knows there are new books on Tuesday.

Except, apparently, you.

Here are two books on my list for today:

Bound, Branded & Brazen by Jaci Burton.

Something About You by Julie James.

Oh, those are AMAZON links, by the way. I would have used yours, seeing as how I shoved my money into your nook, but you don’t have those books available digitally yet.

Amazon does.

Get off your asses and do your jobs, or I’m going to give Amazon my money.

Thank you,

A disgruntled customer who’s willing to put up with a randomly freezing nook that doesn’t do what it’s advertised to do, but won’t put up with not getting new books on Tuesday.

I know. It wasn’t there to link to when I was doing my release day links on my blog this morning. Very frustrating. And i’m sorry. :|

Oh man, that sucks!! I was going to buy Jaci’s today! Gah! We should throw stones or something at Nook. Hrm. Could buy on pc and dl, but wouldn’t it just be easier to be able to buy on the Nook itself? If we COULD do that.

I did buy it somewhere else and sideload it, but I shouldn’t have had to. And I definitely didn’t pay $260 so I could read on my computer.

I’m going to start calling them every Tuesday if this continues. *grumpy*

Oh, that’s a bummer. I admit I don’t know if Amazon regularly gets the new releases on Tuesday or not. But they really SHOULD. It’s irritating to know print books are in the bookstore and not be able to get them downloaded in ebook format!

    *whispers*

I drank the Kindle kool aid.

    I love my ipod touch.

I have a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble and haven’t used it. It’s been a year. Give me a $10 gift certificate to Amazon and it’s gone w/in 30 minutes.

In other words…Barnes and Noble can kiss my butt.

I have a Kindle…and have to say that sometimes my books that I’ve preordered actually show up at midnight on Monday night. It’s verra cool!! Don’t get me wrong, there are things I’m not crazy about w/ it, too ~~ Such as I CANNOT get Lauren’s Trinity PDF to convert to a font size that I can freakin’ read, even though I used the conversion email and PAID for it, but I’m about 98% satisfied w/ the Kindle. I’ve noticed the book prices jumping all over the place the last few weeks, though, and even called them on the new Christine Warren because it was $7.99 in MM and $9.99 for Kindle…they blamed the publisher. It is nox fixed, but not discounted, same price as MM. But overall? I LOVE my Kindle. I haven’t had the slightest glitch, blip or problem….I’ve converted tons of books I had on my computer successfully. Not sure why that 1 out of 50 won’t.

Melissa did you buy Trinity directly from MBaM? If so, you could try re-downloading it in Mobi, which goes right onto the Kindle via the USB cable.

Except for the odd price disparity and the books NOT BEING AVAILABLE (which I’m still not happy about it), I do love my nook. It has a really nice shape to it. And I’ve found that I’m still buying the majority of my books from other places anyway, and then sideloading them onto the nook with the USB and Calibre.
