The Amazing Race is back!

Since its very first episode, The Amazing Race has been our favorite show and we were thrilled they didn’t let it go as long between seasons this time.

Early favorites: I’m not sure how they’ll do, but I love Jet and Cord (the cowboys) and Dan and Jordan (the brothers — “I’m gay.” “I’m not.” They cracked me up.)

I didn’t realize Jeff & Jordan from Big Brother would be on there. While I think she’s frighteningly dim, she’s very sweet and I liked them as a couple, so it’s nice to see they’re still together, even if it’s a long-distance relationship.

I don’t really have a team I dislike yet. Probably Brent and Caite. I didn’t really care for Brandy and Carol right off, but her perseverence on the high-wire thing won me over.

And a 71-year-old grandmother who kicks ass. How awesome is that?

Favorite scene from the first episode: Steve and Allie going into some random building and painting the walls. That was hilarious.

Most annoying habit: Louie and Michael with the constant use of “baby”.

Did you watch it? Who did you like?

I too have watched from season 1. the random wall paining was too funny. Loved the look on the workers faces.

Hubby and I watched it last night, too, and loved it. It’s definitely my favorite reality show (though this season’s Survivor comes a close second).

I howled when Steve and Allie went into that house and started doing the painters’ work (badly, by the looks of it). And like you, I really like the cowboys and the brothers. The gay brother’s impersonation of Caite was spot on, and provided the other laugh-out-loud moment of the night for me.

What’s up with Louie and Michael calling each other “baby” anyway? I didn’t get the impression that they were gay — though maybe they are, that’s not the point. I found it strange, in any event.

Yeah, the “baby” thing needs to stop. Unless it’s a cop thing.

I thought all was lost when the cowboy brothers changed their American money for Brazilian in order to go to Chile. That was an interesting choice that made my husband and I both facepalm.

I adore this show too! Jeff & Jordan are one of my favorite reality TV couples (okay…they are my ONLY favorite :P) and they are absolutely adorable together. I also think the grandma kicks a**. I hope she goes far.

Brent and Caite need to go. There are way too many models/aspiring actors on these shows. I get tired of them.
