Dastardly malfunctions

I was almost done drafting my blog post for today when the phone rang and I was trying to answer it and mute the television and did something weird with the mouse, erasing the entire center of it. I didn’t realize it and hit save draft, as I always do before leaving the computer for a minute, thereby cementing my error.

Rather than attempt to recreate it right now, with half my morning already blown, I give you this lame excuse as to why there’s not a real post.

Oh, but I’ll also share my theme songs for today’s writing: “Buttons” by the Pussycat Dolls and “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie.

Odd choices for me, but they fit.

Anyway, back tomorrow with the post that was supposed to be here today, barring any further user errors.

Oh, damn, I didn’t know about that. I just checked, but because I started rebuilding the post and saved it several times after the debacle, I couldn’t go back far enough.

But thanks! Now that I know about it, I’m sure it’ll save me in the future.

Had you saved the draft earlier before the weird wonky think with your mouse? Because if you’ve upgraded to WordPress 2.9, you should see previous versions of your draft/post at the bottom of the page. If WP had done an autosave or draft save, or if you had a previous save, you can view and reload that original information.

This new previous versions addition has saved me many times. :)
