I have a few CDs that I play incessantly during the holiday season—Harry Connick Jr, Garth Brooks, Josh Groban, Mannheim Steamroller and more—but thanks to the wonder of digital music, I can carry the Christmas spirit around with me and tweak it to suit my mood.
Today on the Christmas playlist:
O Holy Night—Faith Hill
Warm Me Up—Elliot Yamin
Jingle Bell Rock—Rascal Flatts
White Christmas—Rascal Flatts
I’ll Be Home for Christmas—Rascal Flatts
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen—Rascal Flatts
What Child is This—Andrea Bocelli & Mary J Blige
Silent Night—Sugarland
The Chipmunk Song—Alvin & the Chipmunks (Me, I want a huuuula-hooooop)
Candy Cane Christmas—Darius Rucker
Baby, It’s Cold Outside—Lady Antebellum
We Three Kings—Toby Keith
And one of my very favorite, life-long holiday songs…
Happy Xmas (War is Over)—John Lennon
So Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
I hope it’s a good one
Without any fear…
My favorite traditional Christmas music: Probably “O Holy Night” and “The Little Drummer Boy”, though I love and adore almost ALL holiday music. (That reminds me…I need to see if Bing Crosby & David Bowie’s Drummer Boy is on iTunes.)
What’s your favorite Christmas song?

YEAH!
I have been asking about Christmas music. I don’t have ANY! So I want to make a collection. Thank you!!

iTunes has a free Christmas music sampler and Amazon gives away a free Christmas song every day in December! Definitely look through Amazon’s free Christmas music. There’s some good stuff in there.

Yeah. I tried to do that. I live in Canada. It won’t let me
I was very sad! I don’t think I can get free music from Amazon either….

My favorite holiday song is Sandi Patty’s O Holy Night. Best rendition I’ve ever heard.
I have 40+ Christmas CDs and my taste in holiday music is very eclectic so other than the above song, I love all of it. Oh, except for Michael Jackson’s version of I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause. One of the skaters at my daughter’s rink did a number to that every year for six years and practiced a dozen times a day, every day from November 1 to the Christmas program. To this day, I have such an adverse reaction to that song, it makes my head spin.

Oh, that’s a bummer, Natasha! I didn’t realize it was different if you live in Canada.
I’ve never heard of Sandi Patty. I’ll have to look it up because that song just blows me away when sung well.
I’ve never been to a skating rink and I’m having an adverse reaction to the idea of MJ singing that song. I’ve never heard it, and I’m kind of hoping that trend continues.
