The cat, the straw and the Christmas Witch

Hidden deep in the depths of our Christmas tree is the Christmas Witch. If you find a Christmas Witch hiding in your tree, a year of love and joy and peace ahead will surely be.

Our witch was made in school by the Tall Kid back many years ago when he was the short (and only) one, and every year she magically hides deep in the branches. She’s made of paper (and she’s held up remarkably well), but her broomstick is a drinking straw.

You know how cats love straws?

Yeah.

At 6:20 this morning, I woke to Gizmo batting the straw around on my pillow in such a way the paper broom kept slapping me in the face. She was most put out by the events directly following said rude awakening, but the witch has her broom back and she’s now hiding a little higher in the tree.

But my cat would like for you to know the entire thing’s a crock: She found a Christmas Witch in the tree, but she didn’t exactly get love, joy and peace out of the deal.

    Bless her heart.

Kitty has continued to ignore Tommy Too Tall. For that, I am thankful.

I, myself, made a Christmas Witch in school – and she looks just like the one you have pictured. She also does not have her broom any longer… With the exception of that, she has held up quite well!
