I’m off to a lazy start this morning. The boys don’t have school, so once I made my husband’s lunch and sent him off to work with a grumpy monosyllabic grunt, I was free to go back to the couch and curl up with my dog.
Now it’s 8:00 and I’m still curled up on the couch with my dog. But SK’s up and happily blowing stuff up via the PS3. I’ll probably see TK sometime between 9:00 and noon. But it’s time to get off my butt and get some stuff done. The smaller of my two pre-Thanksgiving tasks I did yesterday: cleaning the massive piles off the dining room table so we can actually, you know, eat there.
Today: the den-slash-office. Gah. Over the course of the summer, SK totally took it over because we have central air conditioning…but only downstairs. It’s been overrun by train tracks and 876,349 Legos and it’s reached the point I can’t actually walk in the room. I have a small clear area around the wheels of the desk chair, but the rest of the room ain’t pretty.
Today I have to make it pretty.
The hard part, of course, will be cleaning up 876,349 Legos without playing with them. I love Legos. And TK mentioned watching Star Trek today, and I absolutely can’t allow that to happen or I’ll get nothing done.
And…I could ramble all day, just to stay here on the couch with my fuzzy bathrobe, fleece blanket and my dog. I’m afraid when I get up I’m going to cause a build-up of static electricity that’ll perm Mini’s hair.
Okay. Time to get up! And, hey, if you’re traveling today, be safe!
ETA: TK at 9:02. I know my kid.

Stop playing with the legos and back away.
Star Trek wasn’t bad. I’m not much of a trekkie and so had no preconceived notions of who the characters are or should have been in comparison to the TV show. Good time waster there.
Happy Pre-Thanksgiving Day to you and your family. (need that hug icon!)
