I’m choreographing an action scene from DG4 today. Last time I broke out the Legos to choreograph a scene, I was going to share, but the scene was built on my desk and you could read my bank statements in the picture. I deleted it.
Sadly, now that school is back in session, most of the Legos have gone back upstairs, leaving me with the left-behinds—a mish-mash bucket of miscellaneous pieces. Because I’m too lazy to go upstairs, I was forced to throw together a makeshift scene. It might help if I introduce the characters.
In the role of Jack Donovan:

I promise he wears neither orange overalls nor a sideways baseball cap in the book. (Actually, I’m praying like hell my subconscious doesn’t latch onto this in any way.)
In the role of Isabella Arceneaux:

So she’s a little cranky. No doubt because, while running for her life, she missed an appointment at the salon and is a little behind on her personal grooming.
And…in the role of the Bad Guy:

Yeah, that would be Patrick Starr. In a gold-trimmed, purple, v-neck sweater. In the actual scene, he’s not carrying a bazooka, by the way. I had a choice between the bazooka or Harry Potter’s wand, and the wand just wasn’t gritty enough.
The scene:

Isabella is trying to escape through the window of a building at the end of a dead-end alleyway.
The Bad Guy, hiding behind a large van (which is not a Transformer in the book, btw), has her in his laser sights!
Oh noes!
Jack, running into the alley, sees the red dot on Isabella’s back, but doesn’t have a shot at Bad Guy. He’s blocked by the non-Transforming van.
Oh noes!
Whatever will he do?
I would share more but, as you can see, I’m working very hard today and must get back to it.

You have the best toys, er, research tools.
Now, go deliver DG4 because I want to read it.

 That was great, Shannon!! But now I have this fear of when I read DG4, I won’t be able to banish the image of Isabella’s goatee!! :lmao:

My action scenes would be so much better if I had Legos.
Can’t wait to justify that purchase to my accountant.

It’s wonderful to see how an author works.
