After being disconnected not only from the Internet but from even the basic telephone for the last ten days, you’d think I’d be all over it today. Instead I’m feeling a little disconnected…and I kinda like it. I haven’t even begun to approach the email pile-up, nor have I done more than a cursory skimming of my Google Reader feeds.
I wrote a lot while I was gone—action/adventure romance—but it was all handwritten so now I face the daunting task of typing it all in. Being isolated to the point where the only part of “being a writer” you can do is the actual writing is VERY productive, btw.
I haven’t downloaded the pictures yet—and I’m not even thinking about laundry—but my first priority is the grocery store. After ten days away, there’s very little of an edible nature in my house.
Actually my first priority it to make my sunburn stop screaming. THEN food.
Hey, you know what hurts worse than a mosquito biting sunburned skin?
Yes.
Slapping the mosquito…and the sunburned skin.

Ha. I was unplugged for 10 days, too. And in addition to sunburn and mosquito bites I got those gorram black fly bites. But I liked the unplugging. I told my husband as time went on, I cared less and less about more and more.

Welcome back Shannon. Other than the sunburn & bites, sounds like you had a good vacation. Hope you get your batteries charged and write lots and lots! LOL!
I caved and read the teasers for DG3. Now I can’t wait for the 25th. :wtf:

Before we left, I was a wreck. How can I live without phone or net for 10 days? The first weekend, I was a little twitchy. Then…I didn’t really miss it all that much. And it definitely recharged the creative battery, having nothing but the paper and the pen.

One more week!

Almost all of my favorite lines are spoilerish and I can’t share them, so I’m really excited it’s almost time!

LOL at slapping the mosquito on the sun burned skin.
I SO feel ‘ya. I am fried from this past weekend, and it KILLS me to put on my pants for work. My thighs are par broiled, lol.
Ugh on having to type up all you’ve written, but glad you were able to get some writing done!!
