![]() By the time we did the family birthday party thing for the Tall Kid and then had supper and whatnot, it was late evening before he finally got to dig into his birthday present—an iPod Touch. Fortunately I have a power bug for mine, so I could charge his up while we ate so when I dragged out the laptop and fired it up, he could go ahead and play. He had a little bit of time before bed. So far he has the Lightsaber, some kind of Star Trek phaser, Wikipanion (mobile Wikipedia), an app of 6500 random cool facts, and a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. He’ll no doubt be hitting it hard today, and I’ve already promised to hook him up with Stanza and the Kindle app and grab up any freebies that’ll interest him. He’s ready to broaden his reading horizons, so I’m excited to find some science fiction for him. I guess I need to look into running two Stanza apps with one Stanza desktop. Huh. Anyway, you know what TK will be doing today! |

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll check out Baen.
And, wow, is the Short Kid jealous. He declared he was asking for one for his birthday in November and my husband said he’s too young! What’s ironic is how much time SK spends using mine. In fact, he was the talking instruction manual TK used to figure out iTouch navigation.
We’ll see how that plays out.
