There's a cave with my name on it

So yesterday sucked. No snazzing that up—it just sucked. And I didn’t sleep worth a damn last night. I felt like crap, my back—which carries my stress—hurt like hell, I was given devastating news about the health of two family members yesterday, and I was constantly fighting the urge to go stick the thermometer in Short Kid’s ear while he was peacefully sleeping.

Finally, at 5:30, I gave up the pretense and came downstairs to curl up on the couch with my coffee, my dog and my iTouch, on which I read my blog feeds. The first thing I read was that Jill Shalvis’s Mountain Barbie has passed away. I loved that dog. I always thought she would have been a great dog for my Short Kid, and I started off the day with a good cry.

So now, as I remarked on Twitter, I’m done for the weekend. My funny’s broken and I’m going into hibernation. Later we’ll drag our ragamuffin selves up to camp.

BUT…to leave on a high note, Monday I’ll be giving away two copies of a novella I recently loved, so come back then!

(Resists the very strong urge to say, “You’re so soft”)

    Take care.

I’m so sorry, Shannon, about the bad news and the stress and the illnesses and everything. I hope the cave helped and you had a good weekend.

    “You’re so soft.”

Thanks for the good wishes. We have returned muddy and much stronger, both physically and emotionally. Mentally? Always a crap shoot.

    :cheesy:

I’ve been in a cave too. Not coming out anytime soon. Hope all is well with your ill family members.
