As most of you have figured out by now, deep and thoughtful and introspective essays aren’t really my thing. But I really enjoyed the hell out of this book and felt the urge to review it, so it was time to break out the limerick. (Note to my little sister: Not today. Go away and come back tomorrow.)
Thank you to Kristen Painter for the word “bawdy”!
Okay, let’s get on with it!

Sheriff Hale wears his badge with much verve
While deep down hiding the fact he’s a perv
Paid whores help subside
The kinkiness buried inside
Until a widow throws his life for a curve.
Lily Anders looks quite like a lady
But her desires are just a bit shady
A hard slap on the flank
A decisive hair yank
Saddle up, cause she’s rarin’ and ready.
Through her lit window she gives him a peep
And what she’s doin’ ain’t conducive to sleep
When he saw what she touched
And his sphincter clutched
The lawman felt like a dirty old creep.
But good Sheriff Hale’s a man with a job
Has more to do than just polish his knob
So he tells her behave
While feeling depraved
Because his manhood does nothing but throb.
Lily’s quite sorry he thinks her so naughty
While he strives for aloof and haughty
Til she’s down on her knees
And his inner beast squeeees
Yee-haw, it’s about to get bawdy!
The Wicked West is erotic romance with class
Hot and steamy without being crass
No dripping or gushing
Or vaginal flushing
And nothing thrust up anyone’s ass.
You’ll find hot lust and hot lead
Action both in and out of his bed
There are bad guys to stomp
And a widow to romp
And wicked needs that need to be fed.
I loved it so much I’ll read it again
This story from Victoria Dahl’s pen
It’s sexy and funny
Lots of bang for my money
And I give it an unqualified ten.
There seems to be a small glitch with eHarlequin’s ebook store at the moment, but keep checking back. Or you can buy it RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND through Fictionwise, Books On Board, Amazon’s Kindle Store, The Sony eBookstore and possibly other places I don’t know about.
EDIT: Apparently it is on eHarlequin, but only coming up with direct link
