Learning under the influence

Two weeks from today is the last day of school! :boogie:

Things have been a little focused on the Tall Kid starting high school in the fall (pardon me while I go sob hysterically for a few minutes), but the Short Kid’s taking a step up the school district ladder, as well. We have a preschool-through-second school and a third-through-fifth school, so he’ll be moving on up. Instead of being a big fish, he’ll be the little fish again.

Bonus they’re looking forward to: The first school is made up of an addition on the town’s original 3-story, brick school. They figure the older you are, the tougher you are, so second grade’s on the third floor. That’s a lot of stairs, many times a day. The next school—no stairs. At all.

And SK found out there’s a student council at his new school and he’s more or less declared himself president. When I explained you have to run for student council and be elected by your classmates to represent them, he was a little annoyed I didn’t consider him a done deal.

Hey, they’ve revamped the school cafeteria menu since I was in elementary school:

(Okay, so parent who works for Budweiser was dropping off his child, but it amused me.)

haha. The beer is for the teachers. Or me. Could really used one of those right now. As I started typing this, the kid with the pink eye was begging to go to McDonalds and Kmart. At least your boys can entertain each other. The older two will be leaving to go visit their father…then I’m the entertainment for the ten-year-old. :gaah:

    Short Kid for President.

I’m already making up the flyers.
