Meteorological whiplash

So Monday it was five degrees with fifteen-below windchills. Yesterday it was fifty-five degrees. Today it’s hovering around freezing, with a lovely mixture of precipitation falling out of the sky. Sleet, freezing rain, a snowflake here and there.

And they say it’s going to get really bad this afternoon.

Umm…could they be a little more specific? Like 2:00 and I’m going to have to strap Mini to a sled to get my kids home from school? 4:00 and I should reconsider the short kid’s dental appointment?

We’re supposed to have freezing rain for 10-16 hours. Nice.

1) If the power goes out and I miss Survivor or CSI (hello, Lawrence!), Mother Nature and I are going to have a nasty (thought admittedly one-sided) little chat.

2) Probability of two-hour school delay with possibility of total snow day for tomorrow doesn’t make me a happy camper. Normally I enjoy snow days, but not yet. It hasn’t been miserable enough yet for me to appreciate hibernating for a day.

My husband, of course, is all :cheer: and :boogie: because :sled: is imminent. He’s already scheming a trip up north for the middle of next week.

So I’m off to the store to be one of those frenzied, rushed people I usually mock, buying bread and toilet paper.

Oh, we’re also going to look at area rugs because there’s a rumor we might be moving the office back into the newly-lavender office today or tomorrow! Which means I’ll be able to break out the Christmas stuff!

I have an aversion to ice. I can drive in snow IF I MUST but ice is dreadful. We lose power, heat all that is necessary to survival. I’m glad your DH is happy. Ice/Snow should make SOMEONE happy.

I want to see pics when the office is done.
