Manhunter by Loreth Anne White

Sergeant Gabriel Caruso arrived in the remote Yukon wilderness with one goal: to erase all memories of the serial killer who had ruined his life. But he soon discovered that the madman was hot on his heels—and after anything that touched Gabe’s heart. Including local tracker Silver Karvonen.

As Silver plotted with Gabe to stop their predator, she matched more than wits with the Mountie. Even the icy tundra couldn’t muffle the heat simmering between them. But for Silver and Gabe, love could very well be a matter of life and death.

I don’t do book reviews on my blog as a rule. I pretty much suck at them, with no ability to articulate what I like or don’t like about a book. But I’m going to try.

This might be the best romantic suspense I’ve read in a long time—single title OR category.

There is a LOT packed in this book—it’s scary, atmospheric, emotional, romantic…the whole works. So much depth and detail about the remote Yukon area and the people are given without bogging down the tension or the pacing, and the use of the setting is simple incredible. And this Mountie is not the Mountie we normally (and unfortunately) see the American media protraying. He is one hot, sexy, bad-ass, this guy. Both of their backstories are incredibly compelling, as is the villain. I had a couple of “oh, no she won’t” moments and oh, yes she did, which just sucked me in further.

Okay, I really do suck at reviewing—not a mad skill of mine—so I’ll stop and sum it up with an OMG, this book is wicked freakin’ awesome! It’s the whole package.

I’m not sure where we are in the shelving cycle, but Manhunter was still there last time I was in my Walmart. You can also order through eHarlequin.com, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If you want to read it RIGHT NOW (which I highly recommend), you can grab it digitally at ebooks.eHarlequin.com and Fictionwise (and probably some other places, too, but those are my ebook stomping grounds).

You can also read To the Edge, a daily eHarlequin online read, which is a prequel to the Wild Country series. I haven’t read it yet because I’m desperately hoping they release it after as a Mini, which they’ve done with some previous online reads. If I can hold out that long.

Oh, and it’s the first in a new series, so I am DYING for the next one!

Since you and I tend to have the same taste in romantic suspense, and since we both know Loreth rocks the house, I’m sold! :cheer:

Crud, and I passed it up when I was at my local Walmart last week… *note to self: go back, pretend you actually need something…*

Thank you, Shannon, for helping blow my book budget and my TBR mountain range spread

You just want my TBR pile to be higher than the mountains in the Yukon! Thanks for the tip……I think.

I think I saw this on the shelves (it particularly caught my eye because I remember when Loreth sold over on Subcare) but I bought In The Nick Of Time, and The Sheriff’s Amnesiac Bride (lol). instead. I love a good RS, so I’ll trudge back to the store and pick this one up.

I love romantic suspense, as well. And being that I love your books, I figure I have a pretty good handle on the fact that you like some of the same stuff I do. I will add this to my to be bought list. Not that I don’t have enough books… well, actually, can you ever have enough books?
