I had to run to the big city in order to apply for the husband’s vanity decal sled registration. (I wanted to get LRD&MSTR but it’s too many letters.) The problem with the big city is the plaza with Borders and Staples side-by-side. I was DOOMED! The haul for today:
BORDERS:
To All A Good Night by Donna Kauffman, Jill Shalvis and HelenKay Dimon—those three authors together are a huge WIN for me, especially since HelenKay, my favorite contemporary author, is an autobuy.
Night Echoes by Holly Lisle—I love Holly’s writing, and this one looks deliciously spooky.
The Magic of Christmas by Carolyn Davidson, Victoria Bylin and Cheryl St. John—HH western Christmasy goodness!
A Moleskine 2009 Daily Planner—a solid brick of papery goodness
A Moleskine Reporter Notebook—please don’t drool on it. It’s the first one I’ve owned.
And then…STAPLES:
Moleskine requires pen goodness, so a pack of uni-ball micro pens to go with the 53,385 I already own.
A fine point ballpoint refill I’m hoping will fit my Samhain pen, which I love, because medium ballpoints make my handwriting look fat.
Some little gizmo that claims it will charge the Tall Kid’s iPod without it being plugged into my laptop for umpteen hours.
And a little purple squeezy ball to replace my hackeysack, which had disappeared. Prime suspects include two kids, two cats and a dog. Nobody’s talking.

Oh, man. That is just the nicest thing I’ve read all year. Thank you! If I lived nearby I’d come over there and hug you. I’ll settle for this instead:

It’s nice to know that authors blow it big time at bookstores as well as this lowly reader! My sins are mostly online, but if I’m near a bookstore, I just gotta check it out!

Nothing says happy writer like a new Moleskine!
