That’s my to-do list for today:
Indestructable: Bang my head against a story with a premise I love, but a hero who’s just a total pain in my ass. As I commented on Charli’s blog yesterday:
I’m wrestling with a vampire. As dumb as it sounds, I made him so outrageously bad-ass I ruined the plot because he’s never at risk, so neither is the heroine.
Note to self: Even Superman had Kryptonite.
VS…
Total Destruction: I have to totally empty the upstairs bathroom of everything because the husband will start ripping and tearing in there this weekend.
:bang:
On an upbeat note, I just finished a Harlequin Intrigue, Loving the Enemy by Pat White, that was wicked good.
I’m going to need some good reading to get me through this remodel, so anybody have any recommendations? I’ll probably be especially in the mood for romantic suspense so I can vent vicariously through the villains. :villain:

I recently finished Overkill by Linda Castillo and it was really good.
My husband is a plumber, so I understand about bathroom destruction  ‘course mine’s more because he’d rather do it and get paid for it, then do it for his wife who wants a lovely new bathroom.

It’s not exactly a romance, but have you read Kelley Armstrong’s Exit Strategy? If that doesn’t take your mind off things, dunno what will.

I think I might have Overkill in my pile here. I’ll have to look.
And Exit Strategy’s on Fictionwise, so I’m going to grab it. I’ve been wanting to read her, but between the paranormal elements and trying to figure out the series and stuff, I never got around to it. Straight suspense sounds like the place to start.
And my husband’s playing hooky again today. Not only are we remodeling the bathroom, but he decided we’d put up a fence.
I’m tired of holding posts already. He’s level-obsessed, where I’m more of a “yeah, looks straight enough to me” kinda person.
:gaah:
