Happy birthday, Tall Kid

My firstborn’s twelve today. While it doesn’t seem possible, and I would like to deny being old enough to have a twelve-year-old son, they hand out these pesky little birth certificates that prove otherwise. But I can turn back time just a wee bit by not posting a pic of him at twelve, but one of him at half that. He’s six in this photo, and it’s among my favorite of the family pictures. We stopped at Daytona Beach on our way to Disney, and we not only got him into the water, but he hammed it up, pretending to surf and giving this big, genuine smile. (Tall Kid, he’s not so much with the hamming or the photogenic, even when he was a Medium Kid. *g*)

That’s a fantastic pic, Shan. Happy birthday to the tall kid! Hmm, no cake-eating smilie. Why isn’t there a cake-eating smilie?
