The F-Word

No, not that one. Now that he’s home, I can tell y’all the husband was gone for several days, snowmobiling. And, despite knowing it’s a bad idea, I thought oooh, lots of writing time! Seriously, I know better than to entertain that thought, but I did anyway.

Let’s just say Friday was spent rescuing ATVs from a collapsing tent garage that couldn’t bear the weight of the storm once rain began falling on 11″ of snow. Because I don’t know how to run the Rubicon’s plow, Saturday was spent hand-shoveling the entire driveway. If you know how much eleven inches of waterlogged snow weighs on a fifty-degree day, you know that sucked. If you don’t, consider yourself lucky. Sunday was spent moaning and doing things not requiring a great deal of upper body movement.

I did accomplish one thing, though, with the help of a friend. I tend to have this scattered, overwhelming list of things I want to write and, to be honest, it’s helped me spin my wheels for quite a while now. I sent her the openings of my three favorite projects and we picked one. Just one.

FOCUS.

It’s a little late for New Years Resolutions, but then again they never turn out well for me anyway. So it’s going to be my new slogan, kind of like Just breathe and Just do it:

Just focus.

I do not understand why anyone would want to live up north. It just sounds miserable to me. I am taking your focus advice. Muchos Gracias.
