What I was going to blog about

I was kind of drawing a blank on a blog topic, so I figured I’d blog about TV.

Then I found out some stupid bitch whose ass I’d like to kick all over the freakin’ internet is giving away one of my books for free to anybody who cares to download it. Yes, this is the first time it’s happened to me. But I really don’t want to go on and on about lowlife scumbags who are either too stupid to know the law or so stupid they think it doesn’t apply to them. Suffice to say if the site had shown her location in New England, I’d be beating my royalties out of her stupid ass right now. If the bitch wants to give books away for nothing, she should write them herself. Let her invest the time and the work into the book and then we’ll see if she still thinks illegal file sharing is a good thing.

Stupid and bitch being keywords for this entry.

Shannon, if you haven’t already, contact your editor about this, with the details, so she can pass it onto your publisher’s legal department. They’ll kick her ass. (or should)

I clicked on the link I had to it this morning and I got a “broken link” error, so I’m hoping it—and the thousands of other books she was giving away—are gone.

While it would be nice to think the emails I sent to every contact address on the site helped—they were much more coherent and legal-scary-sounding than the emotional reaction I vomited up here—I heard the RWA threw down on her host.

One very legalese-packed cease and desist order is probably scarier than hundreds of angry author emails combined.

I’d explore the site more and see if she really was taken down, but my kids are on vacation and Nick Jr. doesn’t do local news, so I had no idea 10-20″ of snow, sleet and freezing rain are bearing down on me and I’m almost out of coffee.
