I’m disconnecting until Tuesday morning when my kids go back to school. Besides deadlines breathing down my neck, I’ve been juggling things in “real” life and I’m starting to drop the balls. So I’ll be back to blogging on Tuesday (or I might sneak one in on Monday night since that’ll be my blog’s second birthday) and I’ll dig out the gazillion emails I owe people.
The short kid drew a family picture last night. His big brother and…the cats. Dad’s over by the door, going to work. And in the corner, Mom sitting at the computer. That hurts. (Even though I know from experience he’s smart enough to wield emotional manipulation to his advantage to get what he wants, which is mostly games of Guess Who? right now.)
So we’re leaving the rat race tomorrow and heading north. We’re all going to play Guess Who? and Spongebob Life and Uno and Skip-Bo and Big Fish, Little Fish.
They say that whatever you’re doing as the new year rings in is what you’ll be doing all year. The Stacey family will be spending it bundled up in the great white north, playing games and watching favorite movies together. No computers, no phones, no work van.
Happy New Year!
