The hubby took us all to Borders late this afternoon. Do you think I could remember a single book on my buy list? Of course not. I settled for buying another copy of Winterdance by Gary Paulsen. I’ve already worn out a copy, but I think the tall kid would enjoy it, plus the husband and I will both reread it again, so it’s time for a new one. I’ve never heard my husband laugh like he does reading this book (the guy decides to train dogs and run the Iditarod). And the parts during the Iditarod itself—omg, I can’t believe they do that to themselves voluntarily. Amazing book.
The good news: My Borders took the EC books out of Erotica and put them back in Romance.
The bad news: They have only a very, very small fraction of the amount they carried months ago. Instead of being three solid shelving sections, there’s just some scattered in there.
Interesting: There were a couple of Triskelion trades in there, too, but I also saw a Trisk mass market shelved with the “regular” romance. While I wouldn’t touch their contract on a bet, I’d love to see my books in mass market.
Christmas stuff EVERYwhere.

Shan, I saw the shrinking selection of EC titles in my Waldenbooks months ago. It was huge, and now it’s very, very small.

Oh man. I don’t like hearing this.

I don’t understand why the bookstore keeps moving the books around. Is the goal to confuse readers and make them hunt down titles, or is this a result of which person is in charge of the section at that moment? Very strange

Good question, HelenKay. I’ve seen EC books shelved in romance, erotica and Science Fiction. Yes, even the contemporaries. :eyebrow: I dunno how they figure where stuff goes.
