Scaling the mountain

So I’m still putting my den/office back together after the removal of the ginormous corner desk in favor of sleek new desk (read as zero storage) and the lateral file and the stuff. Most of the contents of the ginormous corner desk got dumped into boxes which now sit in the middle of the floor. You’d be surprised at how many boxes.

Where the hell do people put stuff?

I’ve got half a box of CDs that were scattered around. I don’t have a CD tower. Have no room for one. And the only place I listen to CDs is the truck. Even with the extended cab there really isn’t enough room to store boxes of CDs. :lmao:

Boxes of sheets of paper: research notes, story starts, plot outlines, you name it, I’ve got a scrap of paper for it. I’ve already filled the little filing cabinet my writing inherited when the business got the big lateral file, and I barely put a dent in it. So the old stuff will have to go into the basement, I guess. I know if I throw away the ten-year-old paper with a few notes jotted on it, I’ll regret it forever. I just know it.

And the how-to books! Oh my. And the reference books. I think I can do away with some of the how-to write books. If I don’t know what internal conflict is by now, I’m never going to. While the application is a little harder, I really don’t need the definition anymore. And why do reference books have to be so damn big? My Encyclopedia of Serial Killers is too wide and too tall, dammit. Does not fit properly on my bookshelf. Old conference cassettes…where do I put those?

My to-do list for today is pretty simple: Find some place to put all this crap. And come up with a title for something. I suck at that and will no doubt be pestering Mel about it. She gives good title.

I also got more author copies, so tomorrow I’m going to give away a download of either Kiss Me Deadly or Interstellar Sparks—winner’s choice!

EDIT: First thing I need: file folders. The box is under an awe-inspiring pyramid of books stacked with precision. I need that box. I have no place to put the books yet. Damn, this sucks.

Sweet, author’s copies! :cheer: I just hauled the last boxes out yesterday. It’s a great feeling when it’s all organized, but geez, what a bear getting there.

    That sounds kinky.

I’ll be online tonight, Shan, right after I write up the post of what it was like for 24 hours without internet (aside from at work, which is where I am now, munching on chicken strips from DQ and typing one handed)… We shall TITLE… (methinks I’ll name it EVILCABLESNATCHINGMORONS…:whip:
