I didn’t get out of bed until after 9 this morning. How decadent!
I just sent edits on both Kiss Me Deadly and Interstellar Sparks back to their respective editors…
(*suffers moment of paranoid panic, praying I didn’t send each to the wrong editor*)
…okay.
So back to putting some raw words on the page if I can get the muse to shift gears yet again. I still need to write a blurb for Interstellar Sparks. And my least favorite part of being published will come up very, very soon for both books—choosing excerpts. I don’t know why, but that’s incredibly hard for me. Worse than blurb writing. Even worse than synopsis writing. I always thought it would be easy—it’s already written, after all—but there’s so much pressure on that excerpt, and finding one that stands alone, with no supporting exposition, and is powerful enough to get a reader to give the book a shot isn’t easy.
And actually, my brain is so fried I think I’ll skip the raw words on the page. It’s dark and rainy and I’m too sleepy. I think I’ll transcribe the handwritten pages I’ve got. No brain cell required, but still accomplishing something.
Or…maybe I’ll bloghop. :lmao:

Excerpts are hard. You’re right, it does have to stand alone and really pack a wallop. Not easy.
