A mini-ranting we will go…

Those annoying talking people are making a comeback. You know…the Site Pals or whatever they’re called.

I’d love to visit Romance Junkies more often, but the talking head keeps me away. Same for Medallion’s background music. And I’ve noticed a couple more talking heads popping up other places.

I have boys who run amok playing games with the sound jacked up. When, three hours after they’ve gone to bed, I sit at the computer to surf around and I’ve suddenly got this person yelling at me or music blaring, it pisses me off. It’s easier to avoid those sites in the future than remember to turn my sound down just in case the kids messed with it.

Content is king. Gimmicks, on the other hand, may mildly amuse some people, but stand just as much chance as severly annoying others. The only affect they have on repeat traffic falls in the negative column.

Yes, I have had a sick husband dozing in his recliner. I clicked on a blog and this animated host shouted a greeting because the short kid was playing Train Sim three hours ago before hubby came home and I forgot the sound was turned way up. Now we’re both annoyed.

And lucky you—I have a blog and get to share. :lmao:

I feel your pain. And yes, it’s annoying as all hell. And usually, I forget they’re their. It takes a while for my page to load. And when it does, it scares the hell out of me.
Why, oh why, do they feel the need to torture us? Messes with my mind.

Hence why I keep my sound off at all times unless I actually need to hear something. In fact, I had no clue Medallion Press had sound!

And yeah, that RJ thing? Really really annoying.

I HATE sound on websites like music or talking heads. I avoid them and don’t go there. LOL thought it was just me.

See, I always have my sound down. It’s my boys that sneak that volume up. Brats.

And maybe it’s partly my fault for not checking every time I sit down, but…it’s easier to just skip the sites with sound. It’s already a case of so many blogs, so little time, so it’s not like I won’t have enough to read.
