Two Fridays in a row. Right before Christmas vacation. Too cruel.
The mistake I made was in planning to do all my Christmas prep stuff during the three 2 1/2 hour afternoons the short kid’s in school. This inevitably brought about an onslaught of sick children, snowstorms, a sick cat and various and sundry other mini-disasters.
I’m. Not. Ready.
I now have one week left. Next Friday, assuming we’re all healthy and the weather stays clear, we’ll head to my sister’s in Maine for the evening. Saturday night we always do Christmas Eve with my stepmother’s family. Then…Christmas morning.
*insert hysterical laugh/sobs here*
I suppose I should take the Christmas picture so I can get the Christmas cards done so I can mail them out…soon.

I think we mailed out cards in January one year and called them New Year’s cards.

ACK!! It never really hit me that christmas was NEXT weekend until I saw that you said you had one week left! I even had to double check the calendar!

This is why God invented advent calendars. And kids old enough to keep mothers apprised of EXACTLY how long it is until Christmas. Often and with great enthusiasm.
I’m basically ready, except for a couple of presents that haven’t arrived yet. And two cards I forgot to send out that I keep forgetting to send out because, you know, I already did that.
#1 comes in from Kansas late tonight for three weeks, #2 from NYC next Friday for two. Locusts, both. Back to eight gallons of milk in the fridge. . .

There, there, Shan. *pat pat pat*
It’ll be alright on the night.

I’m still alive.
Barely.
Actually, the husband had it the worst yesterday. We took the kids to Grammy’s and went shopping in the morning, then he brought us all home and went back out shopping for me.
But we put one hell of a dent in it. :snore:
