Bookstore haul

I got Gena’s Heart of the Dragon and A Taste of Crimson by Marjorie M. Liu.

I wasn’t going to read this series. I don’t, as a rule, care for multi-author series because I’m compulsive about reading every book in order and sometimes I just don’t want to read certain books or authors. But I had to buy Crimson City because I love Liz Maverick’s blog so much, and I knew I’d get the second in the series (A Taste of Crimson) because I just finished Marjorie’s Tiger Eye and absolutely loved it. So I’m sucked into this series now, even though I haven’t read the books yet.

(Hey, did y’all know Ann’s new book, Coffee, Tea or Lea?, is available now at Ellora’s Cave?)

I also picked up a book I’d ordered. It’s a research book for my paranormal series and, after staring at the cover for a long moment, he blinked at me and said “I guess I’d better be really nice to you, huh?”

Yup.

You got Heart of the Dragon? It’s out? Dammit, I thought it wasn’t due out until September. It still has a September release date on Amazon. You suck.

I’ll be interested to hear your feelings on Crimson City. People seem to be falling into the love/strongly dislike camp. I have Marjorie’s book too but haven’t read it yet. And yes, I’m with you on the series thing and the fact that I don’t necessarily read- or throw money at- every author in a series. Did we talk about this?

Yup, Heart of the Dragon is out!

And I’ll definitely let you know how I feel about Crimson City after I’ve read it. I’ve seen the definite division, too, and historically I’m usually on the love it side of strongly debated books. Hmm…I might have to analyze that in the future.

And Cece, it’s probably a good thing I didn’t have my TBB list with me at the time. I had school shopping money and no husband.
