My local UBS seems to be run by blue-hairs, but I went to the UBS in the “Big City” this morning. *wiggle*
Merry Christmas, Baby—Brava anthology that I bought, lent out before I’d read it, and never got back.
A Date With the Other Side by Erin McCarthy—I felt badly about buying this one used but I’ve got trade tastes with a mass market budget, you know?
Menage by Emma Holly—We’ll see.
And now for the wiggling…
The Admiral’s Bride and Everyday, Average Jones by Suzanne Brockmann (the SIM originals)—Yes, I’ve read them both. Yes, I’m collecting and keeping the MIRA reprints because the covers are scrumptious. But one simply doesn’t walk away from original TDD SIMs.
The Grinch Makes Good by Alison Kent— Temptation #664, Dec ’97
The Quiet One and The One Who Almost Got Away and Marrying Mike…Again by Alicia Scott—AKA the fabulous Lisa Gardner. The first two are part of her Guiness Gang miniseries, and I’ll probably never find the others, but I’m thrilled, nonetheless. And Marrying Mike…Again is, I think, the last SIM she wrote.
And…*drum roll*…
Loving Evangeline by Linda Howard—SIM #607, Dec 1994.
I was also thrilled to see that, unlike the local UBS, the one in Concord will take Bravas and ECs! :woot:

I love the TDD series by Suz. I too have the original SIMs but have also bought the Mira reprints because I love the covers. Of course, once I get moved I’ve promised myself only one copy per title. **Sigh** what’s a girl to do?
Our local UBS doesn’t seem to have Brava’s or Elloras Cave, but I don’t know if that is because of no one trading them in or their policy. There’s nothing like a good UBS, even if, like you, they make me feel a bit guilty for not buying new.

I recently started reading the Suzanne Brockmann SIM books in that series. I don’t normally like series books, but I’m really enjoying these.

Oooh, I love UBS!!!! I got a ton of romances from our local thrift store the other day, and I can’t wait to go back and get more!

I wonder if UBSs have a shortage of Brava or EC books because of readers being reluctant to bring them in, especially since avid readers tend to be friends with their UBS owners. (Although I know for a fact we’ve got a blue-hair infestation in my area.)
Jordan, I HEART the TDD series. Prince Joe set a really high bar.
Larissa, I’ve been told the Goodwill store in the Big City has like two aisles of romance paperbacks—some very old—but I’ve managed to be a good girl and not go treasure-hunting there. Yet.
