Dishin' on Harry Potter

I am a mere two chapters from being done! And I don’t have time to read them right now, but I will very shortly.

I am so loving this book! I’m going to say one quick thing, then I won’t be back until a bit later, when I’ve finished the book, because:

THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD—BOTH IN THE POST AND IN THE COMMENTS. IF YOU CLICK ON THE “Read the rest of this entry” LINK YOU WILL BE INUNDATED WITH SPOILERS!

With that said…

I cried like a girl when Harry kissed Ginny.

And now I know who’s dead. And I’m crying like a girl again.

    Yep I cried, too.

And so as not to give anything away to my husband, I kind of had to hide behind things so he wouldn’t see me.

Those are SPOILERS? DAMN. You want spoilers go to my blog. I wish you would. SOMEONE has to tell me that I’m right. I’m all alone out here saying but but but …obviously!

And it has nothing to do with liking Snape, it has to do with predicting Rowling’s style.

My 14-year-old got snuffly and hid in the bathroom so his brothers wouldn’t see him teary-eyed.

There aren’t spoilers YET! I wasn’t done. But now there probably will be.

And I’m dodging lightning bolts, so there won’t be any right now, either.

Fortunately for my husband (who reads the slowest and is therefore last on the list) I got through all the sobbing parts while he was at work. He’d better read fast though, because now two of us in the house know.

Okay, I’m going to post a few random thoughts before I head to Kate’s to see what she thought.

(So random they probably won’t follow the proper book order, of course.)

I loved the lovey-dovey stuff. Ron and Hermione’s angst. Harry’s budding lust for Ginny and his fear of losing Ron’s friendship because of it. (I am a Sucker with a capital S for heroes whose love conflicts with his honor.) I think she’ll be by his side in book 7, because she’s clearly a Bombshell babe in the making.

Snape is not guilty. And I think he will sacrifice himself for Harry in book 7.

I’ve been going back and forth between being okay with Dumbledore being dead (the last full measure of devotion) and hoping there’s a Horcrux with his name on it out there. (The whole phoenix theme there.)

And while I got a bit sniffly when the boy we’ve watched struggling along strode off that last page a man, his ass better be on a train back to Hogwarts next year. (In school years. Of course we’ll probably have to wait half a decade for book 7 in Muggle years.)

Okay, I’m sure I’ll be back to expound some more, but I’m off to see what Kate things.

basically the same. Yeah, there needs to be Hogwarts. It’s a fine base. And I wanna a scene of McGonagall as headmistress yammering with the paintings. .

I agree, Shannon. And now I’m off to Kate’s! I couldn’t read this entry yesterday, I hadn’t finished reading the book.

cheryl b has an interesting theory about RAB (over at my blog since she doesn’t have one) and of course it’s no one I remember reading about. . ..that’s what happens when you’re competeing with four other people to get your hands on a book.
