And so it begins…

Alison reports that Ann Jacobs was refused the opportunity to sign her Ellora’s Cave release in the RWA booth at BEA.

UPDATE: HEAD OVER AND VISIT PBW FOR ANN’S EXPLANATION OF WHAT HAPPENED!

 :censor:

If you’re currently an RWA member, please read the RTB post, Letter to RWA and consider adding your name to the list. Remember, this isn’t an issue confined to erotic romance writers.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Since RWA mishandled EC’s paperwork AGAIN and they can’t take official pitching appointments, you can find out how to get an “appointment” over at Kate’s blog.

You know, I’ve had my hair cut, my eyebrows ripped out of my head by hot wax, gone to Walmart and Staples, and I’m STILL pissed off. Within the hour I will have the shiniest kitchen floor in town. (I’m a clean away the aggravation person.)

AND YET ANOTHER UPDATE:

Tod Goldberg obviously shares the humor gene with his brother. Check out his take on the whole shebang.

Boy, I hope people STAMPEDE to buy Ann’s books.

I could say a lot more but I might regret it in the morning.

I’ve heard a lot of rumors about this, so I wrote and asked Ann Jacobs what happened at BEA. Her response and her controversial cover are posted over at my place.

Damn. I was hoping for something horrendous, like that one of the woman breastfeeding Fabio, or maybe it was the other way around. I like that cover.

Oooh, Jaci might get mad if you steal the diva smilie. Then she goes from :diva: to :whip:

    :lmao:

The sad part about the Linda Howard covers is that, from what I understand, she will NOT be able to sign those at the Literacy signing. :eyebrow:

    :wtf:

The worst thing is, authors need to know like yesterday if they’re going to be able to sign there or not. Who’s deciding? Ann Jacob’s cover didn’t violate any of the graphical standards in my opinion. So…

    Again. :wtf:
