May you not get bagged munching the kids’ chocolate after you’ve told them it’s too early in the morning for candy!
Why, pray tell, does the RWA, an association comprised of creative and romantic women, have the ugliest, boxiest, blue and gray website on the Internet? I knew it was ugly, but I also thought it was temporary. But I was there again, and apparently it’s not. It’s hideous. Embarrassing. Use cheaper paper in the RWR and pay a good designer already. When you visually represent almost 10,000 women, you could at least stick a cheap-ass tulip gif in there somewhere.
Pics of the derby car (which won two heats, but not a tropy–but won two heats :cheesy:) here.
I am editing my butt off today. And eating chocolate. And trying really hard not to watch The Empire Strikes Back. (The Easter Bunny brought the tall kid the 4-disc set)
“I’d rather kiss a wookie.”
“That can be arranged.”

Shannon, I agree about the RWA website. The design is so ‘blah’ and boring, and borders on amateur (in terms of the scope of the organization.) It’s also, curiously *static*. It should be way more interactive, with more updates, maybe highlighting *publisher* members each month? Posting interviews? Q&As? How about posting excerpts for old RWR issues, or teasers from upcoming issues–the way Romantic Times Bookclub does? That email newletter they send out, why not ‘hold’ some of the stuff back and direct (those interested) to check out the site for more info? Com’on people, work with me?!? :wtf:

Great photos, btw. Nice paint job, and you weren’t kidding about the ‘tall’ kid.

Go on. Watch Empire. Give in to the dark side, Luke.
Happy Easter!

If Shannon or Jaq wants to start a petition/letter to the board about the website, I’ll sign it.

OMG Shan, you are totally going to be my daughter’s future MIL. The short kid is too cute for words. Your boys are so handsome! And the car isn’t bad either.

Nice pics…and uhmmm, want to share that chocolate??

The RWA site looks bland, boring, and stuffy….hmmmmm
Love the pics…cool derby car!

Sasha, I even have some good stuff that didn’t make it into the baskets with the Walmart chocolate.
Whatever could that bunny have been thinking? :cheesy:
It’s ugly enough that I might have to write a letter. :eyebrow:
And thanks for the kid & car kudos. I was going to post a pick of the shiner the short kid got yesterday, but he doesn’t think it looks haaaaaaaaaaaaandsome.
I don’t know why he cares. His bride’s already picked out. So’s the tall kid’s.

Great looking car. Y’all did really good work. And tell the short kid if he lets you put up a pick of his shiner, I’ll see if I can scan in a “really good” one of mine about 20 years ago. Oh wait, never mind. The scanner won’t work with XP

I’m with you on the RWA site.
Well, mostly. I think they’ve gone for ‘business like’ which is entirely appropriate, but I also think it’s effin’ ugly. Bloody hellfire, it’s so BORING. :snore: And hard to use.
But can you imagine the minefield if they tried to make it pretty? One person’s cute is another person’s skin-crawlingly tacky.

True. But even beige and ivory would be more attractive than blue and grey. :cheesy:
